In addition, the CP9180 is fully updateable via the Internet, so it is designed to accommodate future vehicles as well. The device features a large, easy-to-read backlit screen that shows the trouble code and its definition. And although you still have to fix the problem that your scanner detects, this device will deactivate the “check engine” light on your dash so you’ll no longer be distracted while you drive. Every Actron scan tool and code reader incorporates CAN (Controller Area Network) and the patented TrueLink Technology which guarantees the tool will link to and communicate with every OBD II compliant vehicle. Paid for Itself
The scanner was easy to use right out of the box and operated as advertised. It paid for itself on the second use and saved me a lot of time as well. It would be even better if it were compatible with the O2 sensors on my truck.

More Than Expected

I did some research before I bought this unit and it paid off… I was expecting the best unit at a fair price, but what I got exceeded my expectations. I would certainly recommend this unit to anyone that wants to find out what that “check engine” light is all about.

CP9180 Review
As a home mechanic I needed to understand what the ‘Check Engine Light’ was trying to tell me. In my newer car this meant I needed a Code Scanner. I never take anything to the Dealer as I’d much rather do the work myself and spend the money on tools. At least I get something tangible for my money and I know the work is done well. I found ‘Actron’ mentioned in a few disserent message boards around the net so I decided to research them.

I found they offered a wide range of scanners so decided to call them to ask which one would fit my needed. Seems the CP9180 was it and WELL worth the money.

So if you’re like me and can respect a good tool, don’t hisitate and purchse this device.

The receiver also lets you program up to 30 presets of your favorite streams, as well as search by stream, artist name, song title, or category. 3rd Sirius reciever
This is my favorite reciever, I can move it from the car to the house to my plug and play Boom box and it sounds great.

So far so good
I got this a few days ago and so far I love it. You can customize your settings pretty easily and the screen display is really nice. The only complaint I have is that when I turn it on it takes about 2 minutes for “Sirius Updates”. It didn’t do that the first day I had it but has been doing it since then, so hopefully it won’t be forever. I have the car dock and home dock, and so for home I just got some computer speakers to plug into it and it works great.
